VICTORY -- Feminist Majority spearheads the successful campaign to amend the Civil Rights Act to provide for monetary damages to women who win sexual harassment and sex discrimination lawsuits in court.


The Feminist Majority organizes the Campaign to Overturn the Gag Rule to allow health care workers receiving federal funds to advise women on their right to abortion. Gag Rule Symbol


VICTORY -- By l991, six states adopt gender balance in appointment measures. Gender balance measures are introduced in eleven other states.


NEW INITIATIVE -- Rock for Choice, a project of the The Feminist Majority and the Feminist Majority Foundation, is launched with a concert by Nirvana, L7, Hole and Sister Double Happiness. The goals of the project are to educate and organize young people on abortion rights and to raise funds for the Feminist Majority Foundation's National Clinic Defense Project.
