What's New At The Feminist Majority Foundation Online?

In celebration of our 10th anniversary, the site now features a special online Feminist Majority Foundation and Feminist Majority Chronology. This section presents the struggles and triumphs of our organization during the last ten years.

The National Center for Women and Policing is now on-line! A project of the Feminist Majority Foundation, the NCWP unites women in policing, law enforcement agencies, community leaders and public officials to increase the numbers of women police in our communities, eliminate harassment of female officers, and improve police response to family violence. More information on women and law enforcement will follow later this fall.

Feminist Against Sweatshops explains why sweatshops are a feminist issue and also includes feminist action items to end sweatshops, an inside look at the conditions sweatshop laborers face, and links to labor research organizations and unions.

Our Feminist Arts, Literature & Entertainment section now includes a Feminist Humor page that includes links to your favorite feminist comedians and comic strips. Also within Feminist Arts, Literature & Entertainment is the new and improved Feminist Mystery Corner. It includes information on feminist mystery authors and their books, which feature strong female characters.

Feminist Authors Online now includes extensive links to Web sites for classic authors like Charlotte Bronte and George Eliot and contemporary authors including Isabel Allende, Maya Angelou, and Marge Piercy. Many of these links include opportunities to purchase books, read reviews, view authors' speaking schedules, explore biographical information on authors, and read samples of their books. Support the Feminist Majority Foundation and save money by purchasing your books here!

The Feminist Majority Foundation Online's Take Action center roused users to action in struggles to enforce Title IX, fight against sweatshop labor abuses, demand adequate insurance coverage for breast cancer patients, counter the patriarchal views of the Promise Keepers, protect women's right to choose, and to support television's Ellen.

Janae Haaland took over as Internet Coordinator in August. Janae holds a master's degree in women's studies from The George Washington University and has worked in education and public television. €
